About Us
We are a Partnership led national industry association established to bring cross-sectoral stakeholders together towards the nurturing and growth of a sustainable green
built environment in Botswana.
Our Goal
To promote, facilitate and enable the green building transformation agenda improving the quality of inclusive, equitable human settlements within Botswana
by 2030.
Our Vision
BotGBC’s vision is aligned to the WorldGBC’s ambition for accelerating the transformation towards a sustainable built environment, aligning with all 17 Sustainable Development l Goals. WorldGBC classifies this goals as:
Advanced Goals- Sustainability areas with a key role for the built environment sector to act upon. SDG 3, 7, 11, 12, 13 and 17 - Global projects run by WorldGBC, and the established national GBC action.
Progressive Goals Sustainability areas substantially impacted by the built environment. Prioritised action in some Green Building Council network areas. WorldGBC aims to progress - SDG 6,8,9,10,15
Growth Targets Sustainability areas with contributory role for the built environment. WorldGBC aims to progress work in partnership with key stakeholders - SDG 1,2,4,5,14,16
Our Mission & Principles
To advance sustainability in Botswana’s building industry through advocacy, capacity building, certification, monitoring and evaluation, research and Innovation, pilot projects and demonstrations.
We aim to have high performance buildings and to drive the adoption of green buildings in Botswana, as a lever towards inclusive and sustainable human settlements that leaves no one behind.
